ACE Competition
ACE began in Business Services in 2000, was adopted by Higher Education in 2007 as an opportunity to highlight culinary talent. The food competition itself allows the culinary team to be recognized and rewarded as outstanding chefs in the organization.
There are District, Regional and National competitions. The National competition is coupled with a BU client event. Awards are given at the end of the event for Gold, Silver & Bronze winners. The medalists from each BU’s National competition then form a team to represent the BU at an Enterprise competition. The Enterprise competition will include a culinary immersion day and a client event. The ACE Competition has also been an opportunity to engage potential and existing clients to highlight our culinary talent, innovation and culture of hospitality.
Chef Allison's Bio
Meet Chef Allison Warrington, the master culinary professional who has been preparing her colorful masterpieces for over 15 years. Allison graduated from the esteemed Le Cordon Blue in 2011 and from there moved into fine dining experiences, perfecting her culinary craft. From fine dining in Napa Valley to upscale restaurants in her home state of Washington, Allison displayed her unique culinary skills while improving her knowledge of gastronomy to become one of the best.
Chef Allison moved into a sous chef role at Facebook in Seattle for 7 years before joining Aramark as a chef manager in 2023. In 2023, Allison won gold in ACE Regionals and Bronze at ACE Nationals. Allison also beat out all the competition in the Battle for the West competition to take home the championship belt for 2023-2024.
Alllison always loved seeing the different meals her family would prepare for different occasions and was always interested in learning how they were made. At a young age, she started cooking with her dad and realized she really enjoyed it. The phrase “Do what you love” always rang true for Allison which prompted her to pursue her culinary career and follow her passion.
